Key Responsibilities
- Inspire safety commitment in all teams through deep HSE knowledge and leadership by example.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
- Analyse and report performance of all Contractors and Subcontractors, identify deviations/risks, and propose mitigations to Project Management Team.
- Manage and ensure proper execution of site works by Contractors and approved Subcontractors in accordance with contract agreements.
- Monitor and review Contractor assurance activities and documentation.
- Assure Contractors perform all works in accordance with approved plans and procedures.
- Collaborate and interface with other discipline Superintendents, Engineers, Planners, Authorities, Contractors, and Vendors to deliver key project outcomes.
- Deliverables include safety compliance, environmental management, assurance, budget management and control, project schedule milestones, and adherence to approved specifications and standards.
- Gather and validate project 'lessons learnt' and provide feedback to the team.
Context and Environment
- The project entity is a multinational joint venture with a strong social performance element and high-profile financing.
- The site is in a remote area in Northern Mozambique with unreliable infrastructure and communications.
- The role requires adherence to mitigation measures for Malaria, pandemics, and general security risks.
- This is a rotational position.
Accountabilities
- Responsible for construction activities within the specified area in close collaboration with EPC Contractor, focusing on HSE, Quality, Schedule, and Cost.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the safe and timely execution of work, delivering a fit-for-purpose facility.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma qualification (or equivalent) in a related discipline or Oil & Gas construction projects.
- 10 years of experience in related discipline works and broad knowledge in the LNG industry.
- Experience in LNG process equipment installation, pre-commissioning, and preservation.
- Solid understanding of success factors for large, complex projects: safety, environmental, work organization, cost, schedule, quality, competency, and reputational risk.
- Strong HSE culture and safety leadership; effective communication and leadership skills to influence critical decisions.
- Strong English written and verbal communication required. Portuguese or French is advantageous.
