Overview
A renewable energy operator is seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of utility-scale energy assets. The role includes managing daily operations, maintenance activities, team performance, and regulatory compliance. This position suits someone with strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure facilities run safely, efficiently, and within design parameters

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and operational procedures

  • Monitor production and performance metrics

  • Identify and resolve operational issues

Plant Maintenance

  • Manage scheduled and corrective maintenance activities

  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance to support long-term reliability and reduce operational risks

  • Assist with budget development, cost control, and procurement of parts and services

  • Approve purchase orders within authorized limits

  • Ensure site personnel complete required safety and technical training

  • Support a collaborative and safety-focused team environment

Technical Support and Reporting

  • Conduct operational analysis to support internal teams

  • Review daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports

  • Provide technical insight to improve operations and long-term asset performance

Industry Knowledge and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and local stakeholders

  • Represent the company at the local level and support long-range planning

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree preferred

  • Journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for two years of experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in operations or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, including at least 2 years in the renewable energy industry

  • Minimum 5 years in a lead or supervisory position

  • Minimum 2 years managing facilities and personnel

  • Strong understanding of power plant operations, substation equipment, environmental requirements, and emergency planning

  • Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA requirements, and relevant regulations

  • Experience with energy markets or regulatory agencies preferred

  • Ability to lead teams, manage change, and maintain productivity under evolving schedules

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with tight timelines

  • Willingness to work weekends and off-shift hours when needed

  • Ability to travel to assigned sites, including unplanned travel

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities

  • Proficiency with standard office software

  • Understanding of solar and battery energy systems, power electronics, and general power generation equipment

Work Environment
Office-based position with frequent travel to regional sites, including trips up to six hours away as required.
