Overview
A renewable energy operator is seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of utility-scale energy assets. The role includes managing daily operations, maintenance activities, team performance, and regulatory compliance. This position suits someone with strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations

Oversee daily operations to ensure facilities run safely, efficiently, and within design parameters

Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and operational procedures

Monitor production and performance metrics

Identify and resolve operational issues
Plant Maintenance

Manage scheduled and corrective maintenance activities

Lead preventive and predictive maintenance to support long-term reliability and reduce operational risks

Assist with budget development, cost control, and procurement of parts and services

Approve purchase orders within authorized limits

Ensure site personnel complete required safety and technical training

Support a collaborative and safety-focused team environment
Technical Support and Reporting

Conduct operational analysis to support internal teams

Review daily, weekly, monthly, and annual performance reports

Provide technical insight to improve operations and long-term asset performance
Industry Knowledge and Stakeholder Engagement

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and local stakeholders

Represent the company at the local level and support long-range planning
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor degree preferred

Journeyman or master electrician license may substitute for two years of experience

Minimum 8 years of experience in operations or maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems, including at least 2 years in the renewable energy industry

Minimum 5 years in a lead or supervisory position

Minimum 2 years managing facilities and personnel

Strong understanding of power plant operations, substation equipment, environmental requirements, and emergency planning

Knowledge of industry standards, OSHA requirements, and relevant regulations

Experience with energy markets or regulatory agencies preferred

Ability to lead teams, manage change, and maintain productivity under evolving schedules

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with tight timelines

Willingness to work weekends and off-shift hours when needed

Ability to travel to assigned sites, including unplanned travel

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities

Proficiency with standard office software

Understanding of solar and battery energy systems, power electronics, and general power generation equipment
Work Environment
Office-based position with frequent travel to regional sites, including trips up to six hours away as required.
