Job Title: Operation MultiTech E&I

Contract Type: Until 30 June 2027

Location: China & Qatar Offshore 

Role Overview

Supports start-up supervisors during construction, commissioning, and first oil phases of offshore platforms. Assists with Operational Test Procedures (OTP), commissioning activities, and ensures field operations teams are prepared for start-up procedures. Onshore work during Engineering and Construction phases and offshore rotation during HUC and start-up phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Start-Up Supervisors with preparation and execution of start-up procedures.
  • Witness and participate in Operational Test Procedures (OTP).
  • Support commissioning activities including leak tests and functional checks.
  • Coordinate first oil operations and temporary configuration requirements.
  • Ensure Field Operation core crew are trained on new installation and start-up sequences.
  • Identify procedures and precautions to maintain safe start-up activities.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain "red line" P&IDs for field operation teams.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Assist with mechanical isolations, de-isolations, and draining procedures.
  • Report anomalies, defects, or unsafe practices.
  • Liaise with Start-Up Supervisors, Operating Authority (OTL), and Commissioning Site Leader (CSL) for operational alignment.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings and daily coordination of start-up and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, and use of start-up tools and materials.
  • Maintain local signage, barriers, and safety boundaries.
  • Support crisis response training and emergency response if required.
  • Follow all HSE procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and operational safety protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent (A-levels + 2 years' study).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in oil & gas production operations.
  • Previous offshore experience preferred, including production or control room operations.

Technical Competencies

  • Multi Technician - Instruments: knowledge of instrumentation, measurement signal principles, safety systems, field calibration tools, Ex philosophies (CompEx Ex1-4), and basic production operations.
  • Multi Technician - Electrical: knowledge of HV and LV systems, generators, motors, switchgear, electrical circuit diagrams, Ex philosophies (CompEx Ex1-4), and basic production operations.

Certifications

  • Basic firefighting
  • T-BOSIET, H2S OPITO-approved
  • NOC PTW & JSA awareness
  • Confined Space Entry & Rescue, Authorized Gas Tester
  • NOC lifting & rigging training, manual handling
  • Radiation protection awareness
  • Hazard & Energy control (LOTO)

Skills & Attributes

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues
  • Flexible and willing to work extended shifts offshore

Work Environment

  • Onshore during Engineering & Construction phases
  • Offshore rotation 28 days on / 28 days off during start-up
  • Travel between China and Qatar as required
  • Exposure to offshore operational and climatic conditions
