Onshore HSE Superintendent (CPP Jacket)
Location: Qatar / South Korea (relocation required based on project phase)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time, residential
Contract Duration: June 2025 - March 2027 (potential extension)
An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Onshore HSE Superintendent to join a major offshore infrastructure project during the fabrication phase of a Central Processing Platform (CPP) jacket. This position will be based across international yards in South Korea or Qatar, depending on project needs.
This is a pivotal role for an HSE leader with a strong background in heavy construction, ideally in the oil & gas or large-scale industrial sectors. The role involves proactive HSE management of fabrication works, scaffolding, lifting, confined space entry, and high-risk construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HSE efforts for the onshore construction of a major offshore facility structure
- Ensure all HSE activities comply with company standards, international regulations, and project goals
- Supervise daily construction activities with specific attention to working at height, scaffolding, lifting, rigging, and confined space entry
- Maintain high visibility on site and promote strong HSE culture through regular engagement with site teams
- Conduct HSE inspections, audits, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and emergency drills
- Oversee and manage HSE supervisors and contractors across the yard
- Participate in and support incident investigations and cause analysis
- Ensure compliance with PPE policies, co-activity control, and safety coordination
- Manage scaffolding safety including erection, tagging, fall protection, material compliance, and inspections
- Oversee lifting plans and activities, ensuring compliance with lifting standards and the exclusion of faulty equipment
- Coordinate safety inductions and training sessions for personnel
- Report on HSE performance (KPIs, incidents, anomalies) and ensure lessons learnt are captured and shared
- Participate in HSE workshops, bridging documentation, and cultural safety programmes
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in health and safety, or equivalent qualification
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent
- H2S and T-BOSIET certifications (OPITO standard)
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in large-scale offshore or onshore construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of HSE regulations, particularly in fabrication yard environments in Asia
- Proficient in IOGP, API, and oil & gas construction standards
- Effective communicator and strong leadership qualities
- Capable of working in complex, multicultural teams across different geographies
- Computer literate and familiar with safety management systems
