Job Title: Offshore Senior HSE Advisor
Location: Humberside, UK
Start date: 20th April 2026
End date: 30th April 2027 (Possibility of Extension)
Work Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off
Contract Determination: Inside IR35
Contract Type: 12-month contract with a possible 6-month extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and provide professional expert knowledge and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and contractors on safe work practices, safety standards, and legal regulations.
- Support identification and elimination of potential hazards, ensuring control measures are in place.
- Provide support to a team of HSE advisors with daily tasks, proactive planning, and problem-solving.
- Liaise closely with the project HSE Manager and other key stakeholders within Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) functions.
- Maintain high standards of communication and collaboration across internal and external teams.
- Drive a proactive HSE culture via leadership, cultural engagement, data-driven risk management, and knowledge sharing.
- Oversee and participate in HSE meetings, Toolbox Talks, briefings, safety walks, inspections, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and cultural campaigns.
- Review HSE documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Monitor and assess HSE performance, support incident investigations, analyze trends, and report findings.
- Coordinate with contractors and participate in audit processes.
- Deliver regular HSE meetings and presentations, facilitate HSE inductions, and perform operational HSE assessments.
- Ensure validity of own safety/training certificates and proactively maintain competence levels.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proficient in English.
- Relevant academic or technical background.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in HSE, ideally in onshore renewables or offshore windfarm construction.
- Excellent interpersonal and strong communication/presentation skills.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office; knowledge of incident reporting software advantageous).
- Experience in root cause analysis and incident investigation.
- Demonstrable experience dealing with 3rd party contractors regarding HSE.
- NEBOSH level 3 or equivalent, or similar recognized HSE qualification.
- Experience as a senior or lead HSE Advisor.
- Valid and clean UK driver's license.
Desirable:
- QHSE BSC, Diploma or equivalent level 6 qualification.
- NEBOSH or IEMA Environmental Management qualification.
- Certified Auditor.
- Experience delivering training courses/material.
- HUET, GWO Qualifications, Enhanced 1st Aid, medical and fitness for offshore access in the UK.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily onshore based at site offices at Humberside Airport, with frequent offshore visits expected.
- Occasional offsite and overseas travel may be required.
- Standard onshore shift pattern: Monday-Friday, 8-hour days.
- Some flexibility for working from home, if authorized.
- Required IT equipment (laptop) provided; consultants must use their own iPhone with mandatory security software enabled.
