Job Title: Materials Coordinator – Offshore Projects

Location: Offshore, with office support in Darwin & Perth, Australia

Job Type: Contract / Project-based

Purpose of Role:

  • Plan and prepare all materials, equipment, spares, tools, and consumables required for offshore project work.

  • Manage offshore inventory and ensure materials are available to support project execution.

  • Supervise the offshore materials team to deliver project scopes efficiently.

  • Develop and implement materials management procedures to support offshore operations.

Reporting Lines:

  • Corporate: Reports to Construction & Commissioning Manager (performance and development)

  • Project: Reports to Project Superintendent (day-to-day supervision)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre-start and toolbox meetings.

  • Ensure work is planned and prepared according to schedule.

  • Maintain accurate location records for all materials stored offshore.

  • Prepare and maintain inventory of tools and special equipment.

  • Oversee storage and allocation of all materials, spares, and consumables.

  • Develop a materials laydown plan in line with deck space management requirements.

  • Prepare manifests for materials and equipment returning to shore.

  • Coordinate material call-offs from onshore supply bases.

  • Act as primary point of contact for offshore material requests from execution teams and onshore.

  • Ensure all materials management records are up to date.

  • Prepare daily and weekly materials management reports.

  • Interface with procurement, engineering, and deck crews to expedite deliveries.

  • Monitor materials KPIs and assist planners/engineers with schedule updates related to materials.

Qualifications & Certifications:

  • BOSIET certification (essential for offshore work).

  • Proven experience in materials management for offshore projects, including Brownfield and Greenfield campaigns.

  • Familiarity with warehouse and transport management systems (SPMat, SAP) and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling (DGs), SDS review, and basic HSE practices.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years in materials management, including offshore project experience.

  • Experience leading offshore teams and managing large inventories.

  • Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills.

  • Clear verbal and written communication, with leadership and teamwork capabilities.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and delivery-focused.

Additional Information:

  • Travel may be required to onshore/offshore sites, client, subcontractor, vendor, and consultant offices.

  • Additional training and extended hours may be required to meet project demands.
