Network Engineer - Gothenburg (Sweden) - 50% Remote

09 March 2026 to 29 February 2028

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join a leading global propulsion technology organization's team in Gothenburg. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust network infrastructures for both wired and wireless systems, ensuring security, reliability, and high performance. You will also help optimize solutions such as Cisco ISE and Catalyst Center, or similar technologies, supporting operational excellence across international sites.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and oversee complex network architecture (wired and wireless) across multiple sites.

- Ensure optimal network performance, security, and reliability.

- Manage and optimize network access controls and policies (e.g., 802.1X, NAC).

- Utilize advanced monitoring, troubleshooting, and observability tools.

- Ensure robust enterprise wireless networking, including design, deployment, RF optimization, and troubleshooting.

- Manage firewalls (Fortigate, Palo Alto, or similar) and have proficiency in technologies like SD-WAN and MPLS.

- Develop and manage network automation and "Infrastructure as Code" using platforms such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python.

- Apply best practices for network segmentation, NAC, firewalling, and zero-trust concepts.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable and secure network deployments.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.

- Strong expertise in enterprise network architecture and operations.

- Proficiency in 802.1X, NAC, and network security management.

- Extensive experience in firewall and network security administration (Fortigate, Palo Alto, etc.).

- Proven knowledge of SD-WAN, MPLS, and modern network protocols.

- Skilled in network automation tools and scripting (Terraform, Ansible, Python).

- Experience with enterprise wireless technologies (802.11, 802.1x).

- Familiarity with SNMP, NetFlow, log analysis, packet inspection, and SDN.

- Proficient English (written and spoken).

Contract Details:

- Contract Type: Long-term (2 years)

- Workload: 40 hours per week

- Location: Gothenburg, Sweden (25-40% remote work flexibility)

- Start Date: As soon as possible
