Naval Engineer
Location: Hampshire
A leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Naval Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team supporting a range of energy transition and conventional energy projects. The role offers exposure to onshore, offshore, hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable developments, with a flexible hybrid working arrangement that typically allows around 60% remote work each month.
About the Role
The Naval Engineer will take ownership of the design and engineering of floating structures throughout all project phases, from concept and FEED through to detailed design and execution. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and contractors to ensure compliant, integrated, and optimised solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead concept selection and design of floating structures across project phases (Basic, FEED, Detailed Design, Execution).

Prepare engineering documentation for EPCI tender packages, including Floater Functional Specifications, Design Briefs, and Scopes of Work.

Review tender documents, participate in clarification meetings, and perform technical evaluations.

Conduct hull structural, hydrodynamic (RAOs, QTFs), mooring, and stability analyses.

Collaborate with internal disciplines including structures, pipelines, process, mechanical, and CAD to ensure integrated designs.

Act as Technical Coordinator for naval aspects, interfacing with contractors and ensuring design compliance.

Attend coordination and technical meetings while maintaining awareness of HSEQ policies and relevant design standards.
Minimum Requirements

Background in offshore Oil & Gas engineering.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Working knowledge of Seakeeping and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis.

Understanding of Class requirements and key regulatory frameworks, including IMO, SOLAS, and MARPOL.
