Position Title: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Qatar, Oman, or Offshore (depending on project needs)
Schedule: 5 days per week, residential assignment
Start Date: 01 August 2025
End Date: 28 February 2027 (with possibility of extension)
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Supervisor to support a large-scale offshore infrastructure programme. This role will be pivotal in supervising fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning activities for major topside facilities at a critical riser platform site. You'll be based at a strategically important EPC yard in Oman, overseeing contractor operations and ensuring safety, quality, and performance standards are upheld.
This position is ideal for a motivated engineering professional with significant offshore project experience, ready to operate in a high-pressure environment across a multicultural team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical construction activities at the fabrication yard and ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
- Oversee receipt and storage of materials and equipment according to specifications and vendor guidelines
- Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication procedures, and pre-commissioning documentation
- Ensure preservation, inspection, and installation activities are executed as per project plan
- Monitor contractor workforce performance, resolve issues, and maintain accurate daily reports
- Lead pre-commissioning efforts including punch list close-out aligned with project milestones
- Maintain proactive communication with contractors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders
- Support integration activities and interface management for brownfield scope
- Promote HSE culture and intervene when unsafe activities are observed
Project Context
You'll join a project focused on expanding offshore production capacity through the construction and integration of major platforms and subsea infrastructure. The work scope includes greenfield and brownfield elements, with extensive coordination across multiple EPC packages and offshore campaigns.
The role requires flexibility in location (Qatar, Oman, or Offshore), depending on project phase and site requirements.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Construction
- Minimum 15 years' experience in offshore piping fabrication within oil & gas, including 3+ years on fixed platforms (topside or jackets)
- Strong knowledge of industry codes, engineering specs, and commissioning tools
- Experienced in using OPERCOM, ICAPS, PRODOM, and Total General Specifications
- Fluent in English and computer literate
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to operate in a multicultural environment
- Available for international travel and site-based assignments
