Shift Pattern:
9 hours per day, 5 days per week (M-F). No Hybrid or work from home as this is a fully site based role.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

  • Use experience and knowledge to provide technical and supervisory support, guidance and mentoring to existing management contractor construction team

  • Support, promote and champion positive safety culture and ensure all parties are reminded of expectations with regards to safety being number one priority

  • Encourage and promote communication and teamwork

  • Assist in developing strategies and initiatives to improve managing contractor and contractor performance

  • Assess existing contractor interface performance during construction works and help to develop and improve activity simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) coordination

  • Manage the Vendor representatives of equipment on site including required interfaces between vendor support, Air Products and Contractor

  • Ensure safety requirements of the project are being met by all parties by supporting and encouraging safe work practices

  • Assist in review and appraisal of method statements and risk assessments for technical content and safety considerations

  • Carry out weekly HSE inspection audits

  • BSP Monthly quota is met as set out by the project team and will be covered during the site induction

  • All Safety Passport training is completed within the first two weeks of employment

  • Monitor permit and safe plan of action compliance

  • Continuously observe and monitor the interface of all construction activities for all disciplines, assist managing contractor in resolving any interface coordination issues

  • Assist managing contractor with monitoring of the execution of the works, to ensure project quality requirements and standards are met including monitoring of contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's)

  • Input into coordination of interface between Vendor Representatives and Contractor

  • Assist in system walkdowns with contractor and client including completion and sign off of ITRS & closure of punch items

  • Attend daily and weekly coordination meetings

  • Assist managing contractor to monitor progress & productivity being reported by contractors

  • Produce daily reporting of assessment of works, number of personnel on site, any delays and impacts and contractor performance for equipment installation scopes

  • You will be results focused, pro-active and self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritise and organise a demanding workload, adapting to fit the changing needs of the project

  • Construction field supervision including monitoring contractors schedule and progress, teamwork and the effective supervision of contractors

Language Requirements:
English and Spanish essential

Suitable Applicants:

  • The successful candidate will be part of the client's Mechanical construction team responsible for all equipment installation

  • Experience working in a hazardous environment

  • Verifiable experience in the use of MS Office packages will be an added advantage

  • Fluent in Spanish with strong communication skills and the ability to manage interfaces; English language shall be a plus

  • Strongly safety orientated, well experienced with permit to work procedures

  • Previous experience in this kind of position as a client role

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a quality conscious and methodical approach to work and excellent attention to detail

  • Strong team working, communication and inter-personal skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external contacts at all levels

  • PC proficient, with good Microsoft Office skills and the ability to operate confidently in a computerised environment

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical

  • Ability to read P&ID's and Single Line Drawings, Rotating Equipment, LOTO (Lock out Tag out), PTW (Permit to Work), SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations)

  • An experienced Mechanical Construction Supervisor with 10 to 15 years significant knowledge of and practical experience in:

    • Regulations and standards for equipment fabrication, specification, installation and maintenance with specific reference to hazardous area application

    • Minimum 10 years' experience installation of Static and Rotating equipment (focal in Static: Vessels, Columns, Ex-Changers, Pumps, Compressors)

  • Knowledge of DIN, ASME, ANSI or applicable Specifications

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working on an ASU plant or Gas Production Plant, Refinery or Chemical Plants
