Mechanical Superintendent – Onshore Oil & Gas Projects
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to provide front-line safety and technical leadership for mechanical package installation activities on large-scale onshore oil and gas projects. The role requires ensuring safe, efficient, and effective execution of construction activities in line with project schedules, safety, quality, and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities

Provide visible safety leadership to promote a culture of care and safety-first approach across the site.

Review and comment on mechanical and project-related technical and non-technical documents submitted by contractors.

Ensure all construction activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Apply contractual knowledge to engage with contractors on schedule, technical, and cost issues.

Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communication channels with contractors and company functional teams, including safety, quality, engineering, and business teams.

Participate in activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assisting contractors in identifying schedule mitigations and improvements.

Monitor compliance with safety processes, conducting daily and weekly construction area inspections and attending onsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.

Collaborate with contractors to identify construction constraints and mitigation actions to ensure schedule adherence.

Review and analyse contractors’ daily, weekly, and monthly reports to verify progress and performance.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Sciences.

Minimum 8 years’ experience in large-scale construction projects within the oil and gas industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Extensive experience in mechanical construction, installation, hook-up, and pre-commissioning methods, preferably on major projects.

Familiarity with mechanical equipment, systems, and relevant installation and construction processes.

Knowledge of industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria for fabrication, installation, and hook-up of mechanical systems.
Technical and Business Skills

Proficient in IT tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF, and construction reporting systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to read and interpret approved construction drawings.

Familiarity with 3D modelling software such as Navisworks.

Ability to prepare, review, and verify piping fabrication plans and mechanical construction plans.

Knowledge of document control systems for reviewing, consolidating, and approving technical and project documentation.

Ability to read and interpret project schedules in Primavera or similar scheduling software.

Competent in advanced work packing systems and translating mechanical design standards, specifications, and safety criteria for onshore oil and gas facilities.

Work Schedule: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week, 26 days/month

Contract Term: 36 months (ASAP – 2028)
