Mechanical Engineering Specialist – Onshore Oil & Gas
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist to provide technical support during the EPC and startup phases of operations, ensuring that project deliverables meet operational expectations in terms of safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability throughout the facility lifecycle. This is an onshore role with an initial one-year contract, with the possibility of extension.
Key Responsibilities

Provide mechanical engineering support across project phases, including design reviews, commissioning, start-up, failure analysis, and advanced troubleshooting.

Develop work packs for maintenance-executed modifications and recommend performance improvement initiatives.

Define and document best practices within area of expertise to enhance reliability and operational efficiency.

Develop work plans and schedules to meet section and division KPIs.

Provide technical input to other disciplines and functions to support overall business objectives.

Supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality and compliance.

Mentor and guide less experienced engineers in implementing integrity and reliability systems.

Support completion of project tie-in requirements for systems under responsibility.

Maintain an issue register to track and resolve critical issues, including risks associated with new technologies.

Provide Management of Change (MOC) technical support to assets, ensuring asset integrity and reliable operations.

Actively participate in safety workshops, risk assessments, root cause failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.

Attained specialist-level competencies in mechanical engineering technical areas.

Proven ability to work and make decisions under high-pressure conditions.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.

Computer literate with proficiency in professional office and technical applications.
Work Details

Location: Onshore (Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)

Work Schedule: 8–10 hours/day, Sunday to Thursday

Rotational Schedule: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (single status), 30 days annual leave (couple status)
