Job Title: Mechanical Completion Engineer
Overview
We are supporting a major international engineering organisation in the search for a Mechanical Completion Engineer to join a large-scale energy project. This role will focus on ensuring construction works are completed, verified, and prepared for a smooth transition into the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating completion activities, managing documentation, and ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate Mechanical Completion activities to ensure construction work is fully completed and verified prior to handover to pre-commissioning and commissioning teams.

Support systemisation activities and assist in defining systems and subsystems in line with the project completion strategy and commissioning sequence.

Manage completion documentation including inspection test records, check sheets, and completion dossiers.

Maintain and update the project system completion database.

Work closely with construction and quality teams to ensure inspections, testing, and documentation requirements are completed prior to system handover.

Assist in the preparation of completion certificates and system handover documentation.

Monitor and track punch list items and outstanding work to ensure timely close-out before system turnover.

Liaise with construction, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure completion activities align with project priorities and schedule.

Support preparation of system dossiers and turnover documentation for the commissioning phase.

Monitor Mechanical Completion progress and report status of inspections, punch lists, and system readiness.

Ensure all completion activities follow project quality procedures and documentation requirements.

Promote compliance with project health and safety standards and safe working practices.

Provide guidance to site teams to ensure work is completed in accordance with completion and commissioning requirements.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in energy, oil and gas, or major industrial projects.

Proven experience in Mechanical Completion, pre-commissioning, or commissioning phases.

Strong knowledge of system handover processes, inspection test records, completion documentation, and punch list management.

Experience working with construction, quality, and commissioning teams on large engineering or EPC projects.

Strong coordination and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple completion activities.
Location
Qatar, Project site or fabrication yard with potential involvement during the offshore execution phase.
