The UK office, based in Basingstoke, plays a key role in delivering both traditional oil & gas projects and energy transition initiatives such as CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage), hydrogen, and renewables.

The office is centrally located with ample free parking and a five-minute walk from the mainline railway station. The company promotes SmartWorking, offering personnel the option to work up to 12 days per month from home or another secure UK location.

 

Role Description

The successful candidate will join the UK Materials & Corrosion team and take a lead role on a FEED project for the upgrade of an existing onshore gas treatment and compression facility in Africa.

This is a senior-level discipline lead position requiring responsibility for planning, delivery, and coordination across multiple engineering teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Discipline Management

  • Plan discipline activities and deliverables (forecasting, schedules, etc.)

     

  • Contribute to project documents (Design Basis, Scope of Work, etc.)

     

  • Provide periodic progress reporting

     

2. Discipline Deliverables

  • Material Selection & Corrosion Control (systems & structures)

     

  • Welding & NDT

     

  • Painting, Coating, Insulation & Fireproofing

     

  • Corrosion Management (inhibitors, monitoring, etc.)

     

  • Cathodic Protection

     

  • Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)

     

  • Inspection Data Management Systems (IDMS)

     

3. Cross-Discipline Interfaces

  • Electrical - ICCP systems

     

  • Instrumentation - Material selection, painting

     

  • Pipelines - Material selection, welding, NDT, painting

     

  • Piping - Fluid list, material selection, welding, NDT, painting

     

  • Process - Equipment summary, fluid list

     

  • Structures - Material selection, welding, NDT, painting

     

 

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Proven experience in Materials & Corrosion engineering for onshore gas treatment facilities

     

  • Strong background in corrosion management techniques and material selection

     

  • Degree in Materials, Metallurgy, or Corrosion Engineering (or equivalent)

     

Desirable

  • Familiarity with major operator working practices, standards, and software tools (e.g., ECE)
