Role Description
The successful candidate will join the UK Materials & Corrosion team and take a lead role on a FEED project for the upgrade of an existing onshore gas treatment and compression facility in Africa.
This is a senior-level discipline lead position requiring responsibility for planning, delivery, and coordination across multiple engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Discipline Management
- Plan discipline activities and deliverables (forecasting, schedules, etc.)
- Contribute to project documents (Design Basis, Scope of Work, etc.)
- Provide periodic progress reporting
2. Discipline Deliverables
- Material Selection & Corrosion Control (systems & structures)
- Welding & NDT
- Painting, Coating, Insulation & Fireproofing
- Corrosion Management (inhibitors, monitoring, etc.)
- Cathodic Protection
- Risk-Based Inspection (RBI)
- Inspection Data Management Systems (IDMS)
3. Cross-Discipline Interfaces
- Electrical - ICCP systems
- Instrumentation - Material selection, painting
- Pipelines - Material selection, welding, NDT, painting
- Piping - Fluid list, material selection, welding, NDT, painting
- Process - Equipment summary, fluid list
- Structures - Material selection, welding, NDT, painting
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Proven experience in Materials & Corrosion engineering for onshore gas treatment facilities
- Strong background in corrosion management techniques and material selection
- Degree in Materials, Metallurgy, or Corrosion Engineering (or equivalent)
Desirable
- Familiarity with major operator working practices, standards, and software tools (e.g., ECE)
