Overview
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Material Planner to join a leading energy operations organisation in Qatar. This position plays a key role in supporting onshore maintenance activities by ensuring the timely availability of materials and spare parts. The role supports both ongoing maintenance and major project start-ups, helping to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely availability of materials and spare parts for maintenance and project activities.

  • Prepare reports for critical and urgent materials, coordinating with internal teams to expedite supply.

  • Liaise with procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams to manage material requests and resolve issues.

  • Support the purchasing and replenishment of capital, insurance, and repairable materials in accordance with company procedures.

  • Maintain and update Material Master Data and Bills of Materials as required.

  • Coordinate warehouse preservation, material handover, and write-on/off activities.

  • Handle material return, repair, and technical clarification processes.

  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to manage materials and third-party service agreements.

  • Monitor project spare parts readiness to support safe facility start-up and sustainable operations.

  • Act as a key interface between project teams, maintenance, and other departments to ensure efficient material management.

Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • At least 8 years’ experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector, focused on materials or maintenance planning.

  • Strong knowledge of spare parts management, procurement, and maintenance systems.

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Computer literacy and experience with industry-related systems.

  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative work style.
