Material Controller

Location: Qatar

Contract: Full-time

Role Purpose

Responsible for inventory control and material management to ensure timely procurement and availability of materials for engineering projects. Maintain high-quality standards and compliance with company procedures, supporting project delivery efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory control activities to meet project material requirements.
  • Run and analyse SAP reports to monitor material control for engineering projects.
  • Review reservation lists to ensure timely replenishment and cost-effective inventory levels.
  • Verify material requisitions against project inventory and warehouse stock; adjust quantities as needed.
  • Follow up with procurement to expedite material delivery according to project priorities and quality standards.
  • Maintain and update project material inventory lists based on receipts and issues.
  • Coordinate technical evaluations with procurement and engineering departments.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials, including long-term storage items, according to defined procedures.
  • Coordinate inspection of project materials with inventory and engineering teams.
  • Check materials against requisitions, purchase orders, and certificates to verify specifications and quantities.
  • Identify and tag all received project materials with project references for easy tracking.
  • Reserve and issue materials to contractors, manage material accounting, and return unused materials to the warehouse after project completion.
  • Arrange transportation of materials to stores, contractor yards, or construction sites to ensure timely availability.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental management procedures.
  • Prepare accurate inventory control records, statements, and special reports upon request.
  • Communicate with internal teams (procurement, supply chain, inventory, project engineers) and external parties (contractors, suppliers, consultants) regarding material requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in material control within the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP system.
