Master Data Governance Specialist
Working Location: Doha, Qatar
Job Purpose:
Design, implement, and maintain Supply department Master Data Governance (MDG) policies, processes, and procedures by leveraging analytics, emerging technologies, and industry best practices. Coordinate and manage Material Masters (MM) data lifecycle to support accurate inventory management, optimized procurement, and departmental/corporate strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement MDG processes; ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are aligned with divisional and departmental strategic objectives and enterprise data standards.
- Coordinate and control the lifecycle of MM data to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with corporate policies.
- Monitor MM data accuracy using analytics and digital tools to detect and resolve data quality issues; provide recommendations for process optimization.
- Advise management on MDG requirements while planning for inventory growth, and ensure alignment with stocking strategies and system capabilities.
- Examine and validate Material Master technical specifications for new materials to facilitate efficient procurement execution.
- Implement standardized periodic reviews to mitigate duplications, ensure data field accuracy, address obsolescence, and correct SAP material record errors.
- Improve MDG processes by identifying operational bottlenecks and proposing corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Resolve MDG conflicts by identifying root causes, mitigating risks, and providing subject matter expertise for alignment and continuity of master data processes.
- Develop and coach team members by applying structured development and succession frameworks to sustain MDG excellence.
- Lead digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and data-driven solutions to optimize data accuracy and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business disciplines, engineering, or industrial engineering.
Requirements:
- 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Good knowledge of supplier relations and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with process improvement tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of material/material preservation and warehouse management operations.
