Department Overview:
The Maritime Forwarding team manages import and export shipments for various business units, focusing on safety, compliance, cost-efficiency, and timely transport-including hazardous goods and waste. The team is committed to delivering exceptional service for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and follow up on maritime import files from start to finish for multiple business units
- Collect and verify all transport documentation (BL, invoice, packing list, certificates of origin, etc.) for accuracy and completeness
- Request release from shipping lines; monitor terminal status, free time, demurrage, and detention costs
- Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
- Organize onward (post carriage) transport and coordinate storage or transshipment activities as needed (bulk, containers, breakbulk)
- Guarantee incoming goods arrive safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively in line with IMDG/ADR and waste regulations
- Prepare prepayments to shipping lines or forwarders and verify transport invoices
- Identify new transport opportunities and drive efficiency improvements in the import process
- Maintain an overview and solution-oriented approach while managing multiple import files simultaneously

Requirements:

Technical:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint)
- Experience with transport software IDP10 is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of Incoterms, transport & customs documentation, and hazardous goods/waste regulations (or willingness to learn)
- Affinity with inland navigation logistics or willingness to develop expertise in this area
- Previous experience as an import expediteur or junior logistics professional; suitable for graduates in logistics

- Strong problem-solving skills (top priority)
- Flexible, customer-oriented, stress-resistant, with a positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills, able to interact professionally at all organization levels-even under pressure
- Ability to maintain structure, organization, and focus when managing multiple cases
- Proactive mindset and eagerness to support or lead improvement initiatives

Language Skills:
- Fluent in Dutch
- Fluent in English

Contract Type:
- Temporary assignment (initially until end of the year), with extension possible
- Open to junior and medior profiles
