Job Title: Maritime Import Expeditor

Start Date: 20/04/2026 (Negotiable)
End Date: 31st December 2026 (Further extension possible)
Location: Hoboken, Belgium (Very occasional presence in Brussels or Olen may be required)
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Contract: Temporary assignment (initial contract until end of year, possibility for extension)

About the Role:
Join a high-performing Forwarding team supporting operational continuity for an established industry leader in the materials and technology sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity for knowledge growth and potential long-term collaboration, as you help keep material flows safe, compliant, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and follow up maritime import files from start to finish for multiple business units.
- Collect and verify all transport documentation (BL, invoice, packing list, certificates of origin, etc.) for accuracy and completeness.
- Request releases from shipping lines and monitor terminal statuses, free time, demurrage, and detention costs.
- Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Organize onward (post carriage) transport and coordinate storage or transshipment (bulk, containers, breakbulk) where needed.
- Ensure incoming goods arrive safely, compliantly, and cost efficiently in line with IMDG/ADR and waste regulations.
- Prepare pre-payments to shipping lines or forwarders and verify transport invoices.
- Identify new transport opportunities and continuously seek process improvements.
- Maintain overview and remain solution-oriented while handling multiple import files simultaneously.

Technical Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint).
- Experience with transport software IDP10 is a plus, not a requirement.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Incoterms, transport & customs documentation, and regulations concerning hazardous goods and waste streams.
- Affinity with inland navigation logistics or eagerness to expand knowledge in this area.
- Previous experience as an import expediteur or junior logistics professional (open to junior or medior level; school leavers in logistics also welcome).

- Clear, professional communication skills across all organizational levels, even under pressure or during unexpected changes.
- Ability to maintain structure and oversight while managing multiple simultaneous import cases.
- Proactive approach and eagerness to support or lead improvement initiatives.

Language Requirements:
- Fluent in Dutch.
- Fluent in English.
