Job Title: Maritime Export Expeditor

Location: Hoboken, Belgium (Very occasional presence in Brussels or Olen may be requested)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday

Contract Type: Temporary assignment (initial contract until 31st December 2026, with possible extension)

Department Overview:
The Maritime Forwarding team coordinates import and export shipments for multiple business units. The team ensures compliant, safe, cost-efficient, and timely transport of goods-including hazardous materials and waste streams-while maintaining high service levels toward internal and external stakeholders.

Project Overview:
This position supports an operational continuity plan within the Forwarding Department due to upcoming retirements. The role is part of a temporary team setup amidst a broader strategic review, with the possibility of long-term collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and follow up export files from start to finish for various business units
- Prepare, collect, and verify all required transport documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders
- Organize maritime export transport and coordinate storage or transshipment when needed
- Ensure goods arrive safely, compliantly, and cost-efficiently at their destination, meeting IMDG/ADR requirements and waste regulations
- Identify and gather information on new transport opportunities and suggest process improvements for efficiency
- Manage multiple export files simultaneously while staying solution-oriented under pressure

Requirements:

Technical Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- Good command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint)
- Experience with transport software (such as Stream ILS) is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Incoterms, transport and customs documentation, and hazardous goods/waste regulations
- Experience as an expediter or junior logistics professional; open to junior and medior profiles, including recent graduates in logistics

- Strong problem-solving skills (manager's top priority)
- Flexible, customer-oriented, and stress-resistant attitude
- Clear and professional communication skills at all levels, especially in unexpected or time-pressured situations
- Positive mindset and proactive interest in continuous improvement projects
- Ability to maintain structure and overview while managing multiple files

Language Requirements:
- Fluent in Dutch
- Fluent in English
