Join a dedicated forwarding team responsible for coordinating import and export shipments across multiple business units within a global leader in materials technology. Your team will ensure compliant, safe, cost-efficient, and timely transport of goods-including hazardous materials and waste streams-while maintaining exceptional service levels for internal and external stakeholders.
Project Description
This assignment supports the operational continuity plan in the Forwarding Department, as two key team members will be retiring soon. The role is vital to retaining knowledge and service continuity and is set within a temporary setup during an ongoing strategic review. There is ambition for potential long-term collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up export files from start to finish for various business units
- Prepare, collect, and verify all required transport documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate proactively with both internal and external stakeholders
- Organize maritime export transport and coordinate storage or transshipment as needed
- Ensure goods arrive safely, compliantly, and cost-efficiently at their destination, with strict adherence to relevant regulations (IMDG/ADR and waste regulations)
- Gather information on new transport opportunities and identify areas for process improvement
- Maintain an overview and manage multiple export files simultaneously while remaining solution-oriented, even under time pressure (problem-solving mindset is a manager priority)
Requirements
Technical
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
- Good command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint)
- Experience with transport software (e.g., Stream ILS) is a plus but not required
- Willingness to learn or existing knowledge of Incoterms, transport and customs documentation, and regulations for hazardous goods/waste
- Prior experience as an expediter or as a junior logistics professional (also open to school leavers in logistics)
Non-Technical
- Strong problem-solving skills (explicit hiring manager priority)
- Flexible, customer-oriented, and stress-resistant attitude
- Clear, professional communication skills at all levels, especially under unexpected changes or time pressure
- Positive mindset and proactive approach toward continuous improvement
- Ability to maintain overview and structure while managing multiple files
