Kintec are currently partnered with a leading multinational materials technology company. They are currently recruiting for Maritime Import Expeditor to be based in Hoboken, Belgium.

Department description and responsibilities

The Maritime Forwarding team is responsible for coordinating import and export shipments for multiple Umicore business units. The team ensures compliant, safe, cost-efficient, and timely transport of goods, including hazardous materials and waste streams, while maintaining high service levels toward internal and external stakeholders.

Project description:

This assignment is part of an operational continuity plan within the Forwarding Department. Two colleagues will retire in the coming months. To ensure knowledge retention and service continuity, the team is looking for a Maritime Export Forwarder.

The role supports a temporary setup during an ongoing strategic review, with the ambition for potential long-term collaboration.

Primary Tasks and responsibilities

- Manage and follow up export files from A to Z for various Umicore business units

- Prepare, collect, and verify all required transport documentation for correctness and completeness

- Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders

- Organize maritime export transport and coordinate storage or transshipment when needed

- Ensure goods arrive safely, compliantly, and cost-efficiently at destination, with strict adherence to IMDG/ADR requirements and waste regulation

- Gather information on new transport opportunities and identify potential process improvements to optimize efficiency

- Maintain an overview and manage multiple export files simultaneously, while remaining solution-oriented even under time pressure (manager priority: problem-solving mindset)

Technical profile requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent through experience

- Good command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint)

- Experience with transport software such as Stream ILS is a plus, not a requirement

- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Incoterms, transport & customs documentation, and hazardous goods/waste regulations

- Prior experience as an expediter or junior logistics professional (junior or medior level; also open for school leavers in logistics)

- Clear, professional communication skills at all levels, even in cases of unexpected changes or time pressure

- Positive mindset and proactive approach toward continuous improvement projects

- Ability to maintain overview and structure while managing multiple files concurrently

Contract

- Temporary assignment (initial contract until end of year)
