Job Title: Marine Pilot

Primary Purpose of the Role
Provide safe and efficient pilotage for all types of vessels calling at port facilities, including approaches, channel navigation, harbour movements, and offshore mooring operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pilotage services for large vessels, including VLCC and Capesize classes
- Ensure navigation safety in approach channels, harbour areas, and offshore mooring operations
- Apply detailed knowledge of international, national, and local maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW conventions
- Oversee and coordinate large-scale port cargo operations in line with port policies and operational standards
- Identify and manage occupational hazards while upholding high safety standards in port areas
- Provide technical guidance, planning, and supervision to ensure efficient port operations
- Maintain clear and concise communication across teams and stakeholders
- Contribute to hazard assessments, audits, and quality assurance initiatives
Qualifications
- Master Mariner (FG) Class I certificate
- Minimum of 10 years of sea-going experience as an Officer of the Watch, including at least 5 years as Chief Officer or Master on large vessels (VLCC, Capesize)
OR
- 5 years sea-going experience as Chief Officer or Master on large vessels, plus 5 years' experience as a Marine Pilot across various vessel types
Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of port operations, logistics, and regulatory compliance
- In-depth knowledge of international maritime conventions and port cargo management
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, able to work independently and meet operational targets
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to work effectively within a professional maritime team
- Strong analytical and administrative abilities
- High-level communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
