Job Title: Marine Operation Specialist
Location: Yokohama, Japan
Contract: Initial assignment duration is 1 year, with the possibility of yearly extensions based on project requirements.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Planning and Coordination: Plan, coordinate, and supervise marine vessel movements, ensuring operations align with project schedules and requirements.
- Vessel and Equipment Management: Vet and oversee maintenance, inspection, and operational readiness of marine vessels and equipment, ensuring seaworthiness and proper upkeep.
- Emergency Response: Prepare and maintain coordination plans, interface plans, inspection plans, marine traffic management plans, terminal operation procedures, emergency response plans, and all relevant marine operation documentation.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with vessel captains, crews, port authorities, and regulatory bodies to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth marine operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records and logs of marine operations, generate reports, and manage documentation of activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in marine operations.
- Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of marine operations, including navigation, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of international maritime laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all operations.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
- Additional Abilities: Competent in preparing and interpreting technical reports, procedures, and regulatory documentation in English.
