Job Title: Maintenance Support Mechanical Engineer
Location: Onshore – Ras Laffan / Doha (Qatar)
Contract Type: Call-Off Order under long-term framework agreement
Duration: Initial two-year contract with potential for extension
Work Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday. Rotation options: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Single Status) or 30 days annual leave (Couple Status)

Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to provide technical support across maintenance and reliability functions for major oil and gas operations. The successful candidate will focus on equipment obsolescence, spare parts lifecycle management, and reliability improvement, supporting continuous plant performance and asset integrity. This position works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Supply teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvements and cost-optimised solutions for both rotating and static equipment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support on obsolescence and spare parts lifecycle management for mechanical equipment.

Review capital spares, ensuring appropriate preservation, storage, and inventory optimisation.

Recommend minimum and maximum spare parts levels for obsolete, surplus, or slow-moving items.

Review Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) for new projects and determine replenishment or scrapping requirements for expired stock.

Support technical bid evaluations for mechanical spares and review vendor offers for both rotating and static equipment.

Evaluate project interface agreements to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into existing operations.

Participate in feasibility studies and management of change (MOC) processes to upgrade obsolete mechanical equipment and components such as pumps, compressors, valves, and vessels.

Conduct obsolescence management reviews to support business continuity and minimise operational risks.

Review and maintain mechanical master data, including material creation, modification, and obsolescence.

Contribute to the development and improvement of policies and procedures related to lifecycle and obsolescence management.

Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across departments.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.

Minimum of 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

Hands-on experience with both static and rotating mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, boilers, and heat exchangers.

Familiarity with international standards such as API, ASME, and NACE.

Proficiency in SAP and standard Microsoft Office applications.

Strong communication skills and ability to adapt within a multicultural, multinational environment.

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Additional Information
This is an onshore position supporting major energy operations in Qatar. Visa sponsorship and mobilisation support will be provided for eligible candidates.
