Job Title: Maintenance Support Instrument Engineer
Location: Onshore – Ras Laffan / Doha (Qatar)
Contract Type: Call-Off Order under long-term framework agreement
Duration: Initial two-year contract with potential for extension
Work Schedule: 8–10 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday. Rotation options: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Single Status) or 30 days annual leave (Couple Status)

Position Overview
We are seeking skilled Instrument Engineers to provide technical and engineering support focused on obsolescence management and spare parts lifecycle optimisation. The role aims to enhance asset reliability and operational integrity across onshore oil and gas facilities. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure effective lifecycle management of Instrument and Control systems, contribute to maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement in system performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct obsolescence management for Instrument and Control systems to ensure business continuity and minimise operational risks.

  • Review technical bid evaluations and clarifications to ensure compliance with technical requirements for spares and system procurement.

  • Evaluate and process Instrument and Control systems master data governance (MDG) requests, including material creation, modification, deletion, and obsolescence, to optimise inventory and quality.

  • Review inventory levels to maintain adequate spares and minimise financial exposure.

  • Support feasibility studies and management of change (MOC) processes for upgrading obsolete instrumentation and control systems.

  • Develop and update policies and procedures related to obsolescence and lifecycle management.

  • Provide engineering input for a variety of Instrument and Control systems, supporting division objectives and technical reviews.

  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders across engineering, maintenance, supply, and operations.

  • Stay updated with technological advancements relevant to Instrument and Control systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all company standards, policies, and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent from a recognised institution.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, with exposure to Instrument and Control system installation, operation, or maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience with major field instruments such as control valves, safety shutdown valves, analyzers, and vibration monitoring systems.

  • Knowledge of leading control system platforms such as DCS, PLC, ESD, and vibration monitoring systems.

  • Experience conducting obsolescence reviews and feasibility studies for Control Systems, Analyzers, and related instrumentation.

  • Familiarity with industrial control system (ICS) security and obsolescence management.

  • Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant engineering and maintenance software tools.

  • Excellent command of English, with proven verbal and written communication skills.

This is an onshore position supporting major energy operations in Qatar. Visa sponsorship and mobilisation assistance will be provided for eligible candidates.
