Maintenance Support Electrical Engineer
Location: Qatar (Onshore, Ras Laffan / Doha HQ)
Contract Type: 2-year renewable contract
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 8–10 hours per day
Rotation: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off (Single Status) or 30 days annual leave (Couple Status)

About the Role
A leading energy operator in Qatar is seeking a Maintenance Support Electrical Engineer to provide technical and engineering support to Maintenance, Operations, and Supply departments. The role focuses on improving asset reliability, optimising maintenance costs, and managing the lifecycle of electrical equipment and spares.

The position covers onshore facilities, storage, and terminal operations, with occasional support to offshore assets. The successful candidate will work independently, applying professional engineering principles to support obsolescence management, spare parts lifecycle, and technical feasibility studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and provide recommendations for capital spares preservation, storage, and minimum/maximum stock levels.

  • Manage and consolidate spare parts lists for new and existing projects, including obsolete or surplus items.

  • Support Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for electrical equipment spares procurement.

  • Review interface agreements between new projects and operations from a maintenance perspective.

  • Support feasibility studies and Management of Change (eMOC) activities to mitigate obsolescence risks.

  • Perform obsolescence management to ensure business continuity and minimise operational risk.

  • Review and maintain electrical Master Data Governance (MDG) in SAP, including material creation, change, deletion, and obsolescence tracking.

  • Develop and review policies and procedures relevant to obsolescence and lifecycle management.

  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in oil, gas, or petrochemical industry in electrical engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with electrical equipment including transformers, motors, generators, switchgear, protection relays, UPS, battery chargers, and VFDs.

  • Maintenance knowledge and experience supporting asset reliability and lifecycle management.

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).

  • Computer literate and proficient with relevant software tools and specifications.
