Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Planning Engineer (Instrument) to plan, coordinate, and optimise maintenance activities for instrumentation systems across the facility. This role ensures that maintenance jobs are executed efficiently, reliably, and safely while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will liaise with production, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure spares, materials, and resources are available, and maintenance activities are executed on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan daily maintenance activities to ensure “right-first-time” execution and maximise instrument system reliability

  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules and detailed work plans for instrumentation equipment

  • Prepare work packs for each maintenance order, including resource estimates for manpower, materials, and services

  • Coordinate and review planned work methods, procedures, and spare parts inventory

  • Participate in maintenance contract management, including scope definition, technical evaluation, and contractor coordination

  • Verify and process contractor invoices and monitor service delivery for maintenance activities

  • Communicate with end-users and supply chain teams to ensure spares and materials availability, including master data updates in ERP/SAP systems

  • Perform periodic inventory reviews and adjust buffer stock levels as needed

  • Provide regular work progress reports and key performance indicator data to superiors

  • Forecast annual maintenance requirements, labour, materials, and services for budgeting and cost optimisation

  • Maintain accurate records in the CMMS and ensure compliance with company procedures, HSEQ policies, and life-saving rules

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering (12+4 years)

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer industries

  • Hands-on experience in maintenance planning using ERP systems, preferably SAP S4-HANA, including order planning, purchase requisitions, service orders, and master data management

  • Knowledge of permit to work (PTW) systems, HSEQ procedures, and standard operating procedures

  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English

  • Familiarity with hazardous materials, safety procedures, and compliance standards

  • Commitment to quality, safety, and environmental standards
