A leading manufacturing site in the North West is seeking an Operator Maintenance Manager to lead and develop the maintenance team, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. The role is suited to candidates with experience in chemical, petrochemical, utilities, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

Role Overview
The Operator Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance activities, drive plant reliability, and foster a strong safety culture. This includes predictive and preventive maintenance, corrective work, and facility maintenance. The role ensures maintenance planning and execution align with operational strategy and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance team to develop and maintain a strong EHS culture

  • Guide team members to achieve optimised maintenance planning and high performance operations

  • Identify development needs and drive training and competency plans for the maintenance team

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee predictive and preventive maintenance, including mechanical integrity programmes, safely and cost-effectively

  • Improve plant reliability by reviewing maintenance data and evaluating programme effectiveness using recognised tools and inspection techniques

  • Execute facility-related maintenance as required

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and equipment histories

  • Track maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Support compliance with internal processes, quality and environmental management systems, change control, and corporate requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in chemical, petrochemical, utilities, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is preferred

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, reliability tools, and compliance standards

  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
