Maintenance Manager - Teesside
Join a mission-driven industrial leader focused on reducing CO₂ emissions and driving sustainable performance.
We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Maintenance Manager who can do more than just manage-someone who can implement smart strategies, lead teams, and contribute to business growth. This is an opportunity to shape the future of a growing site by embedding maintenance excellence into its foundation.
Your Mission
In this key leadership role, you'll take ownership of the maintenance function-developing, executing, and continuously improving a strategy that supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Starting with a close-up view of current processes, you'll build systems, mentor your team, and scale the function to meet future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own maintenance strategies that increase equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support long-term plant goals
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and structure
- Develop and embed planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance programs
- Ensure full compliance with H&S, environmental, and regulatory standards, particularly in COMAH or similar regulated environments
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, analysing failure data, and applying root cause analysis
- Contribute to wider business growth initiatives, including capacity expansion, capex projects, and performance upgrades
- Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and senior leadership to align maintenance with business priorities
What You'll Bring
- HND or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
- 10+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position
- Proven track record of implementing maintenance strategies and leading high-performing teams
- Experience in top-tier COMAH or equivalent high-risk, process-led environments
- Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to operational growth through maintenance improvements
- A problem-solver mindset, with strong communication skills and a passion for driving a culture of excellence
