A leading onshore energy development requires a seasoned Technical Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer to take charge of safety design and risk management for complex brownfield projects. This is a long-term assignment that places you in a key position to influence engineering safety from early design through execution, working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

You will lead all aspects of loss prevention, support engineering assurance across design deliverables, and drive safety philosophies, assessments, and mitigation plans that align with international best practices and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of all Loss Prevention and Technical Safety Engineering activities for large-scale offshore brownfield upgrades and pipeline projects.

  • Manage and review key safety deliverables including philosophies, design bases, risk assessments, safety studies, and safety case reports.

  • Provide guidance to engineering contractors to ensure all technical safety designs are compliant and delivered on time.

  • Facilitate and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, SIMOPS, Bow-Tie, and other critical risk workshops.

  • Review and support safety-related engineering documents and reports such as QRA, FRA, FEBRA, TRIA, EERA, SGIA, ESVA, and gas/fire dispersion studies.

  • Act as the focal point for the selection, design and specification of firefighting, fire detection, life-saving and emergency response equipment.

  • Ensure engineering designs comply with codes, standards, regulations, and performance targets.

  • Liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure safety design integration across systems.

  • Represent the Technical Safety function in internal and external technical meetings, workshops, audits, and verification reviews.

  • Provide expert support at construction and fabrication sites as needed.

  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of the final Design Safety Case and demonstrate ALARP principles throughout.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in technical safety engineering with a strong focus on brownfield modifications within the oil and gas sector, including offshore.

  • Solid experience in leading or supporting major risk assessments and safety case development.

  • Working knowledge of relevant safety design standards and practices.

  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional inputs and deliver high-quality results within schedule.

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with international loss prevention codes, safety design requirements, and risk evaluation methods.

Why Apply?
This role offers an opportunity to work on a high-impact energy development in a leadership capacity, where your input directly influences engineering safety across one of the most complex areas of oil and gas infrastructure.
