Organizational Context:
Reporting to the Lead, Integrity Engineering and working under the HSE Integrity & Major Risks Manager, this role plays a critical part in managing integrity and major risk assurance across operations.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure sound and practical solutions and recommendations for integrity and major risk assurance management.

  • Coordinate and develop integrity and major risk management performance reporting and action tracking.

  • Deliver accurate, reliable status updates of the Integrity Threat Register.

  • Promote integrity management assurance across the organisation.


Core Activities:

  • Support preparation of the Technical Integrity Review Team (TIRT) meetings involving discipline leaders.

  • Assist in compiling monthly executive reviews on technical integrity performance, KPIs, major threats, and action plans, including trend analysis.

  • Prepare formal reports such as the “IMR dashboard” containing selected integrity measures and KPIs.

  • Support development of performance standards for Safety Critical Elements (SECEs) based on safety engineering input and corporate frameworks.

  • Conduct and contribute to risk assessments related to anomalies and incidents; advise on integrity threats.

  • Ensure equipment criticality settings are up-to-date across risk-based processes (RBI, RCM, CE Register) and verify alignment with company standards.

  • Support impact assessments ensuring Requests for Change (RFC) comply with standards and acceptable risk levels for humans, assets, production, and environment.

  • Develop Standalone Risk Assessments (SRA) for existing integrity threats.

  • Assist disciplines, especially Frontline Operations (FOPS), with technical integrity and process safety assessments related to modifications.

  • Review downgraded situations and provide operational input.

  • Lead HAZID and HAZOP workshops for class RFCs.

  • Conduct Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) for various scenarios.

  • Perform Safety Integrity Level (SIL) classifications using LOPA and Risk Graph methods.

  • Support barrier monitoring degradation and bow-tie reviews.

  • Participate in the Annual Topside Facility Survey (ASTF).


Context and Environment:

  • Contribute actively to defining the IMR management policies, frameworks, strategies, and tools.

  • The role has high visibility with shareholders and government authorities.

  • Recommend pragmatic solutions considering resource balance and competence, especially for mature offshore assets.

  • Regular offshore visits are part of the job.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience, including at least 10 years in upstream oil and gas and 5 years in safety engineering and technical integrity within large organisations.

  • Familiarity with industry safety engineering standards and guidelines.


Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with business software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

  • Experience with SAP, SYNERGI, and risk assessment tools such as PHAST and OREDA.

  • Qualified Lead Process Safety Auditor (preferred).


Personal Qualities:

  • Strong team player with rigor, critical thinking, and openness to knowledge sharing.

  • Leadership skills with excellent listening and communication abilities.

  • Willingness to conduct frequent offshore visits.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
