Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

Location: Atyrau, Kazakhstan

 

Job Purpose

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes. This role ensures the smooth and cost-effective flow of goods and materials while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Logistics Supervisor manages a team of logistics staff and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to meet operational goals and deliver outstanding service.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Planning

  • Supervise daily logistics activities, ensuring timely delivery and receipt of goods and materials.
  • Plan and implement logistics strategies, route optimization, and distribution schedules to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with warehouse teams, suppliers, and transport providers.

Team Management

  • Lead and manage logistics personnel including drivers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel.
  • Assign tasks, set performance targets, and provide training to ensure high performance and staff development.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and company procedures within the logistics team.

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Ensure effective inventory control processes, stock accuracy, and warehouse organization.
  • Oversee equipment usage (e.g., forklifts, hoists, delivery trucks), ensuring maintenance and availability according to operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all goods movements and stock levels.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers, customs brokers, and freight companies.
  • Negotiate service contracts and rates to ensure cost-effective solutions aligned with budget goals.
  • Respond to client and stakeholder inquiries and provide logistical support as needed.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Analyze logistics systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of logistics SOPs and documentation to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with internal policies, trade regulations, and industry best practices.

     

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of overall work experience.
    • At least 3 years in a relevant logistics supervisory role.
    • GCC experience (2 years minimum) is an advantage.
