Position Overview

The Lead Telecom Engineer will oversee the design, engineering, and integration of telecommunication systems for EPC projects in oil, gas, and infrastructure. The role ensures all telecom systems are engineered, procured, installed, and commissioned to international standards, meeting client requirements for reliability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of telecom systems: fiber optic networks, LAN, structured cabling, CCTV, PA/GA, and access control.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables including telecom layouts, SLDs, cable schedules, interface documents, and vendor drawings.
  • Coordinate telecom integration with ICSS, DCS, ESD, FGS, and SCADA systems.
  • Manage vendor and OEM interfaces to ensure compatibility, quality, and timely delivery of telecom packages.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, ITU, ISO, and client-specific telecom standards.
  • Support site activities including installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve design and site execution issues.
  • Mentor and guide telecom engineers to deliver consistent high-quality outputs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years' experience in telecom engineering on major EPC projects, with 3-5 years in a lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of telecom systems: CCTV, PA/GA, ACS, fiber optic networks, SCADA integration.
  • Familiarity with international telecom standards and industry best practices.
  • Experience integrating telecom systems within plant facilities and control buildings.
  • Strong leadership, vendor management, and communication skills.
