  • Provide technical support to clients and contribute to business development initiatives.

  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and design teams, ensuring high-quality project outcomes.

  • Support scoping, estimating, proposal development, and planning activities.

  • Develop conceptual designs, technical studies, calculations, specifications, and reports.

  • Produce detailed physical design deliverables including layouts, sections, grounding, lightning protection, cable routing, DC systems, and bills of material.

  • Coordinate with internal teams across multiple disciplines to ensure cohesive project delivery.

  • Conduct quality reviews and provide structured feedback to improve deliverables.

  • Perform field visits, site walkdowns, constructability reviews, and provide construction support when needed.

  • Contribute to process improvements, design tools, and technical standards within the department.

  • Participate in meetings with clients, partners, and project teams.

  • Support project management with updates, work planning, and progress reporting.

  • Optional or project-specific tasks may include relay settings development, 3D modelling, or involvement in industry committees.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and applicable codes and standards.

  • Experience producing and reviewing substation design drawings.

  • Proficiency with common software tools used in substation design.

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across distributed teams.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work on time.

  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug and alcohol test in accordance with Federal regulations; role is subject to ongoing random testing.
