Job Title: Lead Repair Development Engineer – Advanced Machining & Tooling

Job Summary:
The Lead Repair Development Engineer will spearhead the development and industrialization of both conventional and non-conventional machining processes for industrial gas turbine component repairs. As a key member of the Advanced Machining team within AMRT, this role ensures high-quality, cost-effective, and scalable machining technologies across the global services network.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead identification, development, and industrialization of milling, grinding, fast hole EDM, and sinker EDM processes.

Drive hands-on repair process development, partnering with global centers for qualification and implementation.

Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and specialists across repair centers.

Ensure machining and tooling processes meet technical specifications and productivity KPIs.

Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and productivity initiatives across Commercial Services and Transactional markets.

Apply Lean manufacturing principles to increase process reliability, reduce costs, and expand capacity.

Oversee schedules and communicate milestones and updates across business units.

Lead efforts in equipment upgrades, from evaluation to post-installation validation.

Conduct cost-benefit analyses on equipment or process changes.

Ensure accurate technical documentation and compliance with engineering protocols.

Mentor junior engineers and help build internal competencies across the repair network.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in machining process development in a manufacturing or repair environment.

Strong expertise in CAD/CAM, with ability to translate 3D models into effective machining programs.

Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proven project management experience and capability to lead hands-on process trials.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Effective team collaborator with strong communication capabilities.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Desirable: Prior experience with industrial gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, or aero engines.
Compensation & Benefits:

Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) – Paid in December

Variable Bonus (VB) – Paid in April (historically 1.6 months based on performance, not guaranteed)
