Job Title: Lead Project Engineer

Job Purpose:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of an independent technical assessment program. This includes planning, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, data gathering, logistics, execution support, reporting, and stewardship of recommendations and actions. The role ensures alignment across multiple business units, provides progress updates, and drives continuous improvement in process safety, asset integrity, and operational excellence.
Job Context and Challenges:
- Manage assessments across multiple operating assets, coordinating with technical specialists across diverse business lines.
- Act as the single point of contact for planning, preparation, execution, and reporting of assessments.
- Handle complex scheduling requirements around shutdowns, inspections, and critical activities.
- Facilitate onshore and offshore site visits, ensuring effective logistics and stakeholder engagement.
- Align assessment outcomes with ongoing organisational initiatives, ensuring synergy and value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead coordination and delivery of third-party technical assessments across operating assets.
- Act as primary interface between consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and manage assessment schedules and detailed plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Support data gathering and preparation of assessment inputs.
- Participate in assessments and site visits, coordinating all associated logistics.
- Review consultant reports to ensure clarity, accuracy, and actionable recommendations.
- Steward recommendations into actions, track progress, and measure closure effectiveness.
- Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on status, findings, and progress.
- Capture lessons learned and implement improvements to enhance assessment quality and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Experience and Knowledge:
- Minimum 11 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong exposure to process safety and asset integrity management in engineering and operations.
- Experience in an operating company is essential.
- Expertise in major accident hazards, safety case development, barrier management, asset integrity, maintenance systems, and risk management.
- Skilled in process safety and asset integrity audits/assessments.
- Familiar with industry standards and guidelines on barrier management (e.g., IOGP 544).
- Knowledge of performance dashboards, maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP), and integrity management tools.
Technical and Business Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across senior management and frontline levels.
- Ability to manage sensitive stakeholder dynamics effectively.
- Strong technical, analytical, and decision-making skills with experience in reporting and interpretation.
- Proficient with Bowtie analysis and project control software.
- Strong project planning, execution, and monitoring skills.
- Ability to deputise for management, providing guidance and technical support to teams.
