Lead Process Engineer – NDT Level III

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Process Engineer (NDT Level III) to join a high-performance industrial team supporting component repair processes for gas turbine systems. This position is focused on the development, implementation, and leadership of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and other special processes within a complex engineering environment.
The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in shaping inspection capabilities, ensuring quality compliance, training technicians, and supporting production excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Own and continuously improve internal NDT and assigned special processes in line with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Serve as the site expert and administrator for the NDT programme, holding Level III responsibilities including procedure development, process approvals, and staff certification.

Lead the implementation and qualification of NDT techniques such as Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Visual, and Eddy Current inspections.

Troubleshoot NDT issues, provide technical direction, and optimise inspection methods while maintaining product flow.

Train and mentor Level I and Level II NDT technicians both in classroom settings and on the shop floor.

Conduct process assessments and support internal or external audits to maintain operational compliance.

Evaluate, propose, and implement new inspection technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Promote a culture of safety and ensure all inspection operations meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.

Lead or support quality improvement initiatives that enhance production outcomes and reduce risk.
Essential Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

Minimum 6 years of experience in an engineering, quality, or manufacturing environment.

Current ASNT NDT Level III certification in one or more of the following: Ultrasonics, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, or Eddy Current.
