A major international energy operator is seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to join their team in Paris for a long-term residential assignment. The position supports the development of multiple onshore and offshore assets through the FEED and potentially EPC phases. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality process engineering within complex, innovation-led oil and gas projects.

Project Context
This position supports a multi-phase development project currently in FEED with follow-on into EPC and project close-out. The role includes leading process engineering during FEED preparation, overseeing contractor deliverables, and interfacing with other engineering teams and stakeholders across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead process engineering studies, ensuring alignment with project specifications and standards

  • Manage technical process scope during FEED and contribute to EPC preparation

  • Review and validate process documentation and deliverables

  • Participate in value engineering exercises to enhance design efficiency and reduce costs

  • Provide input into long lead item definitions and support associated tendering processes

  • Promote proven engineering solutions for safe, maintainable installations

  • Support innovative technical options that improve CAPEX/OPEX without compromising quality

  • Engage in technical reviews, HAZID/HAZOP studies, workshops, and coordination meetings

  • Monitor and manage interfaces with other disciplines and project packages

  • Ensure timely communication of progress, issues, and risks to project leadership

  • Contribute to the development of process documentation and operational instructions

  • Uphold safety, environmental, and quality standards in line with internal procedures

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified engineer with at least 15 years of professional experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas project engineering

  • Strong leadership capabilities and team management skills

  • Experience across FEED and EPC phases

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • Comfortable working within complex international project environments

Project Environment
This role supports two related energy developments that emphasise CAPEX efficiency, emissions reduction, and rapid execution. The developments employ minimal wellhead platforms connected via offshore and onshore pipelines, incorporating modern engineering and execution strategies for cost and carbon optimisation.
