Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Process Engineer (NDT Level III) to manage and develop Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) processes and other special processes critical to the repair of industrial gas turbine components. This hands-on role involves overseeing inspection procedures, qualifying new technologies, mentoring technicians, and ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost within the NDT function.
  • Administer and own the internal NDT program, including processes, procedures, techniques, and certifications.
  • Act as NDT Level III for Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, and Visual inspections-ensuring proper method selection based on component requirements.
  • Troubleshoot inspection challenges and maintain steady process flow while ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Implement and qualify new NDT and special process techniques.
  • Provide training and certification support for Level I and II NDT personnel-both on the floor and in classroom settings.
  • Lead internal audits and process assessments to maintain high inspection standards.
  • Evaluate and adopt new inspection technologies to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Promote safe practices aligned with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Mentor and support projects aimed at improving product quality and inspection capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in engineering or quality-related roles
  • Current ASNT NDT Level III certification in at least one of the following: Ultrasonic Testing, Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, or Eddy Current Testing

Desirable:

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial gas turbine repair
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities across multiple levels
  • Understanding of measurement systems and quality control for turbine components
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, coach teams, and influence process improvement
  • Familiarity with working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment
