Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Planner to provide planning and scheduling expertise for major onshore projects. The successful candidate will ensure overall project schedule quality, perform schedule analysis, identify potential risks, and coordinate inputs to develop mitigation plans. This role requires close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to support effective project execution and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement management and technical direction for all aspects of planning and scheduling, including schedule development, risk assessment, analysis, reporting, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate inputs from project teams such as engineering, procurement, construction, completion/commissioning, and interface management to support EPC schedule validation.
- Ensure effective planning and Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes are executed by contractors and subcontractors.
- Support the preparation of project control deliverables, including planning and scheduling documentation, in line with company project management standards.
- Review and ensure the effective implementation and updating of EPC project planning and scheduling procedures.
- Collect, consolidate, analyse, and report schedule trends and productivity to assess overall project status and identify potential problem areas.
- Conduct schedule delay and impact analysis, review recovery plans, and evaluate additional resources required.
- Implement project changes, assess schedule impacts, and ensure approved changes are incorporated into overall schedule reporting.
- Evaluate contractor performance in planning and scheduling, identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrective actions.
- Review contractor schedules and work with project area managers to provide planning support and overcome execution challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business administration.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a major project environment in the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory planning or scheduling role.
- Experience with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in large-scale projects.
- Advanced proficiency in scheduling software, including Primavera (mandatory) and other scheduling tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiating, and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex tasks, and collaborate effectively with teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases or business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
