Job Title: Lead Piping & Pipeline Engineer

Position Overview
The Lead Piping & Pipeline Engineer will oversee all engineering activities for piping and pipeline systems on large-scale EPC projects. This includes plant process piping, cross-country pipelines, tie-ins, and integration with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with international standards, project specifications, and constructability best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Lead design and engineering of process piping and cross-country pipelines from concept through commissioning.

Review and approve engineering deliverables: P&IDs, line lists, isometrics, 3D models, stress analyses, and material requisitions.

Develop strategies for tie-ins, shutdowns, and SIMOPS in live operational environments.

Ensure adherence to ASME, API, client, and regulatory standards.

Oversee construction methodology for pipeline installation, piping erection, hydrotesting, and commissioning activities.

Review and approve vendor documents for piping materials, valves, fittings, and supports.

Coordinate across disciplines (process, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation) and with vendors/OEMs.

Support construction and commissioning teams by resolving technical queries and maintaining quality standards.

Mentor and guide junior engineers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

12+ years’ experience in piping and pipeline engineering; 5+ years in a lead role on EPC projects.

In-depth knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API pipeline standards.

Hands-on experience with piping layout, stress analysis, 3D model reviews, and material selection.

Proven experience in shutdown tie-ins, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning activities.

Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
