Lead Process Engineer
Location: Onshore, Qatar

Duration: 36 months (through 30 June 2028)
Schedule: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week (approx. 26 days/month)
Overview
We are supporting a large-scale onshore energy infrastructure programme and seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to oversee and coordinate process engineering activities across both greenfield and brownfield scopes. This is a high-profile, long-term contract role that involves close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and Tier-1 EPC partners on a complex offshore facilities development.
Role Purpose
As Lead Process Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, strategic input, and expert review across all process engineering deliverables. You’ll act as a key liaison between internal project management teams and engineering contractors, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution of process-related scopes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight and strategic input to all process engineering activities within the assigned scope.

Review and approve engineering deliverables including simulations, calculations, and study reports.

Conduct engineering studies, develop basis of design documents, perform adequacy assessments, and support front-end design.

Support project execution planning by aligning technical documentation and deliverables with broader project schedules.

Participate in and lead technical workshops and risk reviews (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).

Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering teams and ensure process-related interfaces are effectively managed.

Engage with Subject Matter Experts and contribute to the endorsement of any required deviations from standard specifications.

Capture and disseminate lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery.
Requirements

Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.

Minimum 8 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas sector, including offshore facility design and delivery.

Proven experience working on major projects with EPC contractors.

Deep understanding of process design principles, safety criteria, international codes, and offshore project execution.

Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and deliver to tight deadlines.

Fluency in written and spoken English.

Willingness to be based on-site in Qatar and travel as needed.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and engineering tools relevant to the discipline.
