Lead Engineer, OT
Location: Singapore (Project-Based, with flexibility for regional or offshore work)
Contract Type: Fixed Term Direct - 24 months
About the Role
A world-class offshore energy programme is seeking a Lead Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to drive the execution of digital integration and transformation projects across complex marine and offshore facilities. This role sits at the core of delivering high-value, data-driven performance through the integration of OT systems (e.g., ICSS, vendor control systems, telecoms) with Enterprise IT platforms.
You will lead a team of OT and Senior Engineers to oversee the digital connectivity between isolated control systems and enterprise environments, enabling advanced analytics, AI, automation, and data governance strategies to support safer, smarter and more efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary OT engineering team, assigning deliverables and responsibilities clearly
- Champion and enhance technology change management processes across OT environments
- Design, implement and troubleshoot interfaces between business systems and OT networks
- Scope and manage the development and execution of OT infrastructure projects
- Support planning and standardisation of hardware and lifecycle management
- Participate in design reviews to ensure digital strategy alignment with business goals
- Evaluate OT and IT network architecture to identify opportunities for integration, optimisation and enhanced cybersecurity
- Provide architectural input and oversight on operational application implementation
- Deliver technical solutions for OT-IT integration, especially in FPSO contexts
- Work closely with stakeholders across engineering, analytics, IT, and operations
- Support global initiatives in collaboration with internal digital teams and third-party partners
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field
- 5+ years' hands-on experience in control system design within oil & gas operations
- Strong understanding of OT/IT network infrastructure and industrial communication protocols
- Familiarity with the operational demands and digital enhancement of FPSO or offshore assets
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a technical environment
- Working knowledge of system integration, virtualisation, data governance, and enterprise architecture alignment
Desirable Knowledge (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
- Cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, NIST)
- Vendor and ICSS control systems on FPSOs
- OT integration challenges and asset lifecycle information
- Data structuring, processing, and system virtualisation (VMs, SANs)
- Engineering development tools commonly used in EPCI projects
- Knowledge of systems engineering tools and frameworks
