An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Repair Development Engineer to join an innovative engineering team focused on advanced machining and tooling technologies. This is a high-impact role that involves developing, optimising, and industrialising both conventional and non-conventional machining processes for complex industrial components used in high-performance environments.

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a passion for manufacturing technology, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a drive to deliver results across a global network of repair centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, development, and industrialisation of machining processes such as milling, grinding, fast hole EDM, and sinker EDM.

  • Drive hands-on development and partner with internal and external stakeholders for qualification and implementation of new machining processes.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and specialists across global repair centres.

  • Ensure all machining and tooling processes meet strict quality and productivity standards.

  • Support process development aligned with new product introduction (NPI) and continuous productivity improvement goals.

  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, reduce costs, and enhance capacity.

  • Maintain project timelines and deliverables, ensuring regular communication across all levels of the organisation.

  • Assist with evaluation and implementation of new equipment, including installation and commissioning.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes to processes or equipment.

  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all technical data, consistent with engineering standards and best practices.

  • Mentor and support less experienced engineers across the global repair network.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in machining process development within a manufacturing or repair environment.

  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and ability to translate 3D models into effective machining strategies.

  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Proven experience managing machining projects and performing hands-on process trials.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with components from industrial gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, or aero engines.
