Lead Engineer - Repair Solutions

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Repair Development Engineer to join an innovative engineering team focused on advanced machining and tooling technologies. This is a high-impact role that involves developing, optimising, and industrialising both conventional and non-conventional machining processes for complex industrial components used in high-performance environments.
This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a passion for manufacturing technology, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a drive to deliver results across a global network of repair centres.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the identification, development, and industrialisation of machining processes such as milling, grinding, fast hole EDM, and sinker EDM.

Drive hands-on development and partner with internal and external stakeholders for qualification and implementation of new machining processes.

Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and specialists across global repair centres.

Ensure all machining and tooling processes meet strict quality and productivity standards.

Support process development aligned with new product introduction (NPI) and continuous productivity improvement goals.

Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve process capability, reduce costs, and enhance capacity.

Maintain project timelines and deliverables, ensuring regular communication across all levels of the organisation.

Assist with evaluation and implementation of new equipment, including installation and commissioning.

Conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes to processes or equipment.

Ensure comprehensive documentation of all technical data, consistent with engineering standards and best practices.

Mentor and support less experienced engineers across the global repair network.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

A minimum of 5 years' experience in machining process development within a manufacturing or repair environment.

Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and ability to translate 3D models into effective machining strategies.

Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proven experience managing machining projects and performing hands-on process trials.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% as required.
Desirable:

Experience working with components from industrial gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, or aero engines.
