Engineering company based in Qatar looking for Lead Electrical Engineer role

12 months secondment contract

5 days on / 2 days off / 8-10 hours per day 

-    Leads a team of Sr. Engineers, Engineers and Designers in the execution of the full range of engineering works for a project or projects within the Electrical discipline.  Supervises and approves all aspects of the discipline area subject matter.  Plans, schedules, and controls the work with respect to quality, productivity, and budgets.  Provides high level technical supervision, advice, guidance, and judgment to the engineering team.

-    Accountable for the technical accuracy, scope management and quality of own work and for the work of direct reports. Accountable for hours and material budgets associated with own work scope and that of any assigned team(s).

-    BS. Eng. or equivalent Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited University.  

-    Minimum 15-20 years of relevant experience in a professional technical capacity 

-    involving specification, design, planning and checking in an engineering consultancy or EPC company within the oil & gas industry (offshore & onshore). 

-    Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering of brownfield modifications to oil and gas or similar facilities which must include offshore. 

-    Must have worked at least 5 years as a supervisory / Lead engineer position, supervising and guiding a team of electrical engineers and designers. 

-    Familiarity in local and international standards IEC, NFPA, Shell Deps etc. 

-    GRADE A Certified Engineer from MMUP is an added advantage. 

-    Must have experience of multidisciplinary packages such as cathodic protection, subsea cable design etc.   

-    Must possess a thorough knowledge of industry practices, tools, codes, and standards as applicable to the discipline.  Tool knowledge such as Smart Plant Electrical, ETAP design software, PSCAD software etc. 

-    Must possess a strong working knowledge of upstream and downstream oil & gas and/or petrochemical units and operating principles.  Other industry specific knowledge may be acceptable on a location-by-location basis. 

-    Site construction and commissioning experience is an advantage.
