Senior Landscape Architect

Location: Garden City, NY

Overview

A Senior, Licensed Landscape Architect is sought to join a major design-build contractor. This role requires a balance of creative design, technical expertise, and project management to deliver large-scale, high-quality, and sustainable landscapes. The individual will be responsible for leading projects from concept through construction within an integrated design-build setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of landscape architecture projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors.
  • Develop master plans, site layouts, planting plans, and construction documentation.
  • Oversee the integration of design intent with construction practices in a design-build environment.
  • Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and sustainable design standards.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with in-house construction teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Mentor junior designers and project staff.
  • Stay current on industry innovations, materials, and methods.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Landscape Architect (required).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 7+ years of professional experience, including project leadership within landscape architecture.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both design excellence and technical competence.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Revit, GIS, and other relevant software.
  • Expertise in site planning, grading, drainage, planting design, and construction detailing.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
