Overview

An industrial energy operator is seeking an IT Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of IT equipment, software, and services. This role involves developing and improving procurement processes, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that IT resources meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current IT procurement processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Work closely with internal departments and stakeholders to assess procurement needs
  • Develop and implement enhanced procurement processes to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify potential IT vendors and suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
  • Administer contracts, manage amendments, renewals, and ensure compliance
  • Ensure timely delivery of IT equipment and software that meets quality standards
  • Maintain and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Manage IT resource inventory and ensure accurate updates
  • Collaborate with ICT teams to meet software and hardware requirements
  • Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and invoices
  • Stay current with IT trends and advancements to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Handle issues or problems with orders or suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or equivalent; relevant supply chain/procurement diploma acceptable
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT procurement or similar role
  • Procurement or supply chain certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • Knowledge of IT equipment, software, services, and IT infrastructure
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, contract management, and supply chain processes
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills
