Position Title: Interface and Risk Coordinator 

Project Type: Major/Mega Oil & Gas Project

Location: Qatar

Reporting To: Project Manager / PTF Lead

Work Environment: Onshore/Offshore Exposure

Contract Term: 1-year contract with a view to extending 

 

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or B.Eng. degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university
  • Higher academic qualifications are an advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major/mega oil & gas projects
  • At least 7 years in project management/interface leadership roles with proven track record
  • Extensive experience in:
  • Leading effective project interface organizations
  • Applying industry best practices and company systems
  • Complex interface and risk management environments
  • Demonstrated analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and presentation capabilities

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Interface Coordination:

  • Manage coordination between internal/external stakeholders to meet project objectives
  • Lead all technical interfaces across contractors, EPIC partners, engineering leads, and third-party reps
  • Ensure compliance with local authority requirements through proactive planning and resolution
  • Manage interface conflicts and scope gaps across Brownfield & Greenfield project phases
  • Develop and maintain a Technical Interface Management System (IMS) and interface control procedures
  • Monitor interface milestones, performance KPIs, and deliverables
  • Facilitate resolution of design deviations, variation orders, and scope realignment

Risk Management:

  • Create and manage the Risk & Opportunity Management Plan
  • Maintain a comprehensive and prioritized Risk Register with clearly defined owners
  • Ensure EPIC contractors' top risks are integrated into the overall risk strategy
  • Continuously appraise project leadership of significant risks and required actions
  • Lead and facilitate QRA review meetings, including cost/schedule analysis and contingency reporting
  • Chair monthly risk review sessions with project stakeholders and functional leads

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work independently within policy frameworks to achieve project goals
  • Exercise authority in interface and risk matters, ensuring resolution and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Manage sensitive/confidential information with discretion
  • Resolve multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team conflicts within both PTF and contractor organizations
  • Support project stages from engineering through commissioning and handover
