Instrumentation Superintendent
Location: Qatar
Work Schedule: 6 days per week, 10 hours per day, approximately 26 days per month
Contract Term: 36 months

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sciences or Engineering

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with large-scale construction projects in relevant disciplines such as construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, and hook-up within the Oil & Gas industry.

  • At least 1 year in a supervisory role or oversight of service/vendor personnel, including acting roles.

Technical and Business Skills:

  • Proficient with standard office software including Word, Excel, and PDF for reporting, reviewing, and communication.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret approved construction drawings.

  • Ability to read and navigate 3D models using Navisworks.

  • Competence in preparing, approving, and verifying instrumentation installation plans.

  • Experience working within document control systems for reviewing, consolidating, and approving technical and project documents.

  • Ability to read and interpret project schedules, including Primavera.

  • Familiarity with advanced work packaging systems.

  • Extensive experience in instrumentation construction, installation, hook-up, pre-commissioning, preferably within a major LNG project environment.

  • Knowledge of instrumentation design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria specific to onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.

  • Experience with instrumentation equipment, including Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS), telecommunications, and Electrical and Instrumentation Control Systems (ELICS), along with relevant installation and construction industry codes.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  1. Provide visible safety leadership, promoting a culture focused on care and safety-first principles.

  2. Review and comment promptly on electrical and instrumentation technical and non-technical documents submitted by contractors.

  3. Ensure all activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, regulations, and standards.

  4. Apply contractual knowledge when engaging contractors on schedule, technical, and cost issues.

  5. Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communication with contractors and company functional teams, including safety, quality, engineering, and business units.

  6. Participate in activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assisting contractors in identifying schedule mitigation and improvement actions.

  7. Monitor safety standards by ensuring contractors perform daily and weekly walk-throughs of construction areas.

  8. Attend onsite workface planning, safety meetings, and toolbox talks to ensure clear understanding of work activities.

  9. Collaborate with contractors to ensure compliance with project schedules, identifying construction constraints and mitigation measures.

  10. Review contractors’ daily, weekly, and monthly reports to analyse performance, verify progress, and monitor status.
